1969 Mustang Mach 1 Poster

The 1969 Mustang was a radical departure from its predecessors.  With the muscle car craze in full swing, the new Mustang upped the ante with a bigger body and bold, angular styling by Corvette designer Larry Shinoda.  Powertrain options expanded with offerings from the humble 6 cylinder all the way to big block 429 power. The performance-oriented Mach 1 sported distinctive styling touches inside and out, and was available with a choice of 5 V-8 engines.
