Built as a lightweight, short-wheelbase competitor for twisty races like the Targa Florio and the Nurburgring, the 908/3 was a powerful weapon in the hands of the likes of Brian Redman, Vic Elford, and Jo Siffert. Entered by the JW Automotive team with iconic Gulf livery, Redman and Siffert took chassis #008 to victory in the 1970 Targa Florio. #008 was sold to Reinhold Joest after the 1971 season and went on to have a long illustrious career. Today, the car is a staple in vintage races around the country.
