Brabham BT46B "Big Fan" Poster

Regular price $30.00 $0.00

The BT46B was the Brabham Team's answer to the domination of the Lotus ground effects machines during the 1978 Formula One season.  Designer Gordon Murray placed a huge fan at the back and sealed the entire bottom of the car, creating a vacuum which sucked the car to the ground, dramatically increasing cornering speeds.  Niki Lauda drove the BT46B to an easy victory in the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix at Anderstorp.  Murray claimed the fan was there to cool the engine, but rival teams protested, and Brabham withdrew the "fan car" after its victorious debut. This print portrays Lauda on his way to victory in Sweden and is rendered in team sponsor Parmalat colors.
